It’s the rabbit’s fault
With extra rabbit care required, I’ve fallen quite a bit behind. I’m just now back to working on my booth, but all will be well.
Preparing for Magic City Art Connection
I always do a practice setup ahead of a festival. You can feel like a deer in headlights when under the gun on the day of the show.
The tulip work continues…
This painting has been on the back burner for a week or so, while “The Sentries” was completed, but the tulips have returned to the easel. This 30” x 48” canvas is about 80% complete, with a couple of tulips left to render. Groucho stands before the piece as if it were his very own.
Saving paint scraps
There’s always a good use for leftover paint. It’s money saving so use it up!
The Bellingrath Series
The bees of Bellingrath Gardens were doing a great business early in March. They visited the azaleas, camellias, and tulips with great gusto. These guys will play a big role in my upcoming floral series featuring the blooms of Bellingrath.
The Sentries
In this acrylic painting, the behavior of two cats being cats with the interesting hue on the walls and steps provides a compelling vision of colors, shapes, and characters.
You’re in luck! It’s Friday the 13th!
I recently, under a bit of trusted marketing advisement, decided to use my own name for my studio business dealings. Thus, Longhouse Studio is now Jean Campbell Art.
Looking ahead at 2026
My work is moving toward new things now, and I’ve started several new pieces.
January is Reset Time
I like to use this time to reflect and reset- start new good habits and modify those that aren’t really serving me.
