You’re in luck! It’s Friday the 13th!

What’s in a name?

I recently, under a bit of trusted marketing advice, decided to use my own name for my studio business dealings. Thus, Longhouse Studio is now Jean Campbell Art. The old domain and email address will continue to work and bring you to my site or my email inbox. But do note the URL is jeancampbellart.com and email jean@jeancampbellart.com‍.

I did a bit of a redo, as well, so check it out.

Emerge from the Mire

This week, I finished a small acrylic painting of a lotus flower. I really love being greeted by these exquisite specimens all through summer and well into fall. Each bloom lasts about three days, opening a little more each day, until finally succumbing back into the murky waters.

A symbol of purity, rebirth, and transcendence, the lotus blossom is revered for its ability to rise out of the mud and reach above the water to present its grandeur. Inspiring and empowering, the lotus is a favorite flower and my good luck icon.

You can enjoy daily inspiration. “Emerge from the Mire,” is available for your collection.

2026 Arts Alive

I submitted art for the 2026 Arts Alive Festival Gallery Exhibition sponsored by the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts in Florence, Alabama.

As luck would have it, I received an invitation to participate in the exhibit this week. The opening will be May 16 but the time has not been set so check back here for updates.

The pieces selected are shown below.
