The 2026 Great Southeast Pollinator Census happened last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Scientists and lay folks like me come together to gather important data on how our pollinators are faring here in the Southeast.

The lantana bush in my backyard is about 6 feet in circumference. It sits before a wooden fence that supports a thriving passionflower vine. The area is simply teeming with carpenter bees.

Sometimes, at just the right moment, the light changes colors on ordinary objects. You’ll miss it if you don’t stop and take it in at that moment, as the world seems to show off the true colors it had been hiding.

We are getting ready for our upcoming show, Work of Stillness, to be held at the East Village Arts space, so Ginger Wyatt and I got together for a photoshoot of us with our art. 

The grands have all gone to their homes now. I am back to my regular studio hours, and this is also joyful for me.
