New dahlia painting on the way!

I’ve got a new piece coming! I’ve just finished the glass container and have moved on to the blooms, with only the bright yellow center to go. I mostly always save the best for last! Mostly. As I focus on cleaning out my studio for my next wave of productivity, I’ll take my time and complete this trio of loveliness next week. Hmmm… Maybe that’s the name? Here’s where I am so far.

Our two-woman show at East Village Arts, “Work of Stillness,” has come to an end. I was preparing for the “Bluff Park Art Show” on Saturday, October 3, but the show was canceled because of possible inclement weather. We were bummed about Bluff Park and figured others were too, so Ginger Wyatt and I threw a last-minute closing reception at EVA instead. Why not? We greeted a few folks, enjoyed being in the space one last time, then packed it all up and took it home.

There is talk of a possible Bluff Park reschedule, so I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something. In the meantime, support local arts.
