Work of Stillness opened last Friday!

The name of a piece usually presents itself during the process of working on it. Until that time, I refer to it by a description, like “Carpenter Bee on Lantana.” But the title has finally arrived. Once the work on the blurry background was completed, I focused on the detail of the foliage in the foreground. Here you see the finished composition.

You can see “Good Mother Carpenter,” at our “Work of Stillness” exhibition that opened last Friday, September 4th, featuring art by Ginger Wyatt and me.

The exhibition invites viewers to celebrate the natural world, expressed through art. You’ll see figures, botanicals, wildlife, light-drenched still lifes, and the two pieces seen below.
