In the days before the event, I worked hard on artwork and preparation, painting on the final piece until the afternoon of the very last day.
The final two blooms…
At the point this photo was taken, I wasn’t sure I was going to finish in time, but Camellias with Bellingrath VIP finally came to its conclusion on Wednesday.
With every painting, I have certain brushes I favor and certain ways of applying paint. Each painting presents unique requirements, and I learn what they are as I go. Progress toward the end moves much more quickly, and the final sessions are the most enjoyable.
Next, there were backboards to cut for prints, price tags to make, and paintings to put in frames.
Finally, came the time to load the car, unload the car, and raise the booth.
