The delicate folds of these two peonies from my garden, with their intense pink petals, were an early Spring inspiration. I waited until just the right time to capture the stunning glow the sunlight created.
When I experience a vision like this in the natural world, I often feel myself on the brink of an epiphany. The intent of this garden-inspired painting was to convey this feeling and provide the viewer with a chance to also experience the power of light on the pink petals, made more intense when set against deep green foliage. The pink and green combination exudes lushness.
