Acrylic on Canvas
The dahlias in this acrylic floral painting came from my garden. I'd picked a few and set them in a jar on the table. I knew this was the image I needed when I walked through the dining room one morning. The bloom had opened to its fullest, and the light was hitting the bouquet at just the perfect angle, setting it aglow.
I gave the arrangement a dark green background and used that green family for rendering the glass jar. I love how the combination of bright pinks against a dark background is soothing yet invigorating.
It was a pleasure to create this dahlia piece. There is joy in knowing that this beautiful bloom can continue to delight long after she has faded away.
