You can surround yourself with colorful blooms year-round. I came upon these dahlia blooms in the garden one morning, ablaze in the early sunlight, their petals alive with stop-you-in-your-tracks purples, yellows, and oranges.

I knew I had to capture that moment before it faded. I brought them to canvas with acrylics by layering color and showcasing the morning sun’s glow. This small, beaming painting provides big color and delight.
